New to South Scottsdale, Stax Burger Bistro.
Located just north of Bungalow and The Breakfast Club (Scottsdale Rd and Stetson). I would describe Stax as a gourmet burger joint and not your run of the mill beef burgers either, Stax also servers up lamb, turkey, buffalo, and salmon
burgers. The burgers are slider style so you’re probably going to order 2-3. Stax feels very much like a bar and little like a restaurant. You’ll probably do a double take if you order a glass of water with you meal because that garnish in your water isn’t a….for more click title

Dish is a new concept to South Scottsdale, part food market, part bistro. The market side offers produce, fresh-baked breads, wine, cheeses, and take home meals ranging from snacks to complete meals.
The Bistro side will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the bistro is also a wine bar.
Dish is very similar to La Grande Orange Grocery and Pizzeria.
Dish is a nice addition to South Scottsdale and will provide area residents a great place to pick up dinner, have coffee, meet friends for a glass of wine, or have a meal.

Here is great article from east valley tribune detailing the new businesses opening down town. Most are Restaurants or Bars, which really solidifies South Scottsdale as the cities hub for entertainment.

“Mighty Mud Mania” began in 1976 as the “Shout It Out Decathlon”, a promotional gimmick for Johnson’s Wax “Shout” Spray pre-wash. The activity was
held in Chaparral Park in Scottsdale and the Johnson’s Wax Company provided 300 white t-shirts for the participants. Johnson’s dropped the program because our Arizona mud was too tough….for more click title

With all the talk about home foreclosures, I was wonder where in the valley this was happening. Is it happening in South Scottsdale or is it isolated to certain parts of the valley.
In looking at data, in the MLS, it looks like Scottsdale and South Scottsdale has very little foreclosure activity. For all of Scottsdale the total number of homes being sold as, Foreclosure, Pre-foreclosure, or Bank owned property, is 12. In South Scottsdale, 85251 (2), 85257 (1), 85250 (0), 85258 (1). Not much activity, when you figure that there are 457 total homes….for more click title

My Take:
Scottsdale is always going to be in high demand, as a place to live and work. When you factor demand and limited supply of new housing, home prices in South Scottsdale and all of Scottsdale will continue to increase. Currently, you see a lot of remodeling and updating of the older homes and condos in South Scottsdale. This should continue because prices are more favorable in South Scottsdale and this part of Scottsdale provides easy access to the whole valley.
